2007 Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon
Friday, April 24, 2009 at 11:02AM For me, this is the best Koonunga Hill red since the 2001 and so a return to the Penfolds quaffer that I have known and loved for a very long time (since 1976). The price has crept up a notch but you should be able to find it easily enough under $15. I've been assured by Fosters that this vintage will be around until at least June. This 2007 Koonunga Hill has bright, redcurrant pastille, raspberry and red cherry flavours with a judicious touch of oak, is fleshy, vibrant and easy drinking. It has richness and concentration, a hint of complexity from smokey, white pepper characters
Rating: Bloody Good

Just purchased this wine as a "we'll see" must say, very impressive for the price.
